Carpets Unlike clothes towels and bed sheets can’t be put into a machine were they can whirl all-around with cleaning agentsfor one to two hours until all the dirt and grime and stainsare extracted and then rinsed.
These things when used are cleansed on a regular basis sometimes every week or every few weeks.
Carpets however are vacuumed weekly or maybe every month or so, but vacuum-cleaning unlike a washing machine doesn’t remove much filth at all, and carpets are stepped onto frequently in shoes that has been in the roads and in public places where there is dirt, filth and harmful bacteria. Vacuum-cleaning only gets rid of the dust and loose dirt which is very often on or near the surface of the carpet, where they are continuously being walked on, this dirt and dirtis continually being trodden into the carpet pile wearing it down like sandpaper. This is mostnoticeable in the high traffic areas of people’s homes, like the hall stairs and landings, the entrances to rooms and where they put their feet in front of settees. The carpet will need replacing much sooner if this dirt and dirt is not removed from it.A better alternative to this problem is shampooing carpets using an applicator or shampoo machine; this will get more filth out of the carpet than vacuuming alone, and most individualswill use this method of cleaning to clean their carpets occasionally, possibly once a year or so; but others may leave it for years.
Shampooing carpets however frequently offers only minimal end results. A large amount of undetectable grime and unsightly stains is nevertheless still left trapped in the carpet, and the filth is usually left as a sticky residue on the carpets surface which has to be hoovered away when dry.The other problem with this system is that the carpet can re-soil faster because it has not been rinsed properly, and there is still a residue of dirt left on its surface. The build up of compressed dirt, if not got rid off from the carpet, especially in the heavily used places, will wear it out considerably faster. Untreated stains that are difficult or impossible to remove also contribute to damaging carpets..
Pets can also cause major problems with carpets. Dogs and cats can carry fleas, and pet stains like urine can discolour and ruin them as well as creating unpleasant odours in the carpet.. Filthy carpets can contribute to ill health and affect asthma sufferers, because they become breeding grounds for harmful bacteria and mites. The aged and the very young can be affected the most because of this. There is nevertheless a considerably better way to clean carpets effectively, as well as remove awful odours and deal with and get rid of stubborn stains that is used generally by professional carpet cleaning contractors, and that is by using the hot water extraction carpet cleaning system.
The heavily soiled areas of the carpet are pre-treated with specialist cleaning agents which are brushed into the carpets pile, which loosens all the ground in soil and stains helping to get rid of them. The carpet is then cleansed with a very powerful hot water extraction machine. Specialist carpet cleaning detergent mixed with hot water is pumped deep into the pile of the carpet under pressure by means of a carpet cleaning wand, this emulsifies all the dirt and grit deep within the carpet pile itself, which is then sucked out of the carpet by means of a very powerful vacuum, which goes into a sludge tank in the machine. The dirt and soil is lifted straight out of the carpet, and no sticky residue is left, or any other residue which has to be vacuumed off the next day. The cleaning work is effectively done. Carpets can be deodorised, sanitised, treated for stains, and treated for fire and flood damage using these methods, with various professional specialist detergents, additives and stain removers.
These methods of cleaning carpets have proved very effective over the years, as much more dirt and stains can be removed from carpets than would otherwise be the case. Regular cleaning using these techniques can increase the life of carpets by helping them stay fresh and clean for longer, and so reducing the risks to health.
